Behind the Platform: What Happens After You Choose Your iGaming Technology?
Interview with Maryna, Head of Account Management and Integration at Gamingtec
Choosing an iGaming platform is a major business decision. But the platform itself is only one part of the equation.
Behind every launch are integration requirements, operational decisions, coordination between teams and the ongoing work required to ensure that technology supports the operator's business objectives.
We spoke with Maryna Shneidmillier, Gamingtec's Head of Account Management and Integration, about what happens behind the scenes, where operators should focus their attention and what makes a platform partnership work beyond launch day.
From your perspective, what should operators consider before choosing an iGaming platform?
I think the most important thing is to look beyond the initial launch. Of course, time to market and commercial terms matter, but operators should also understand how the platform will support their business as it develops.
That means looking at the products they need, the integrations required, their operational processes and the flexibility they will have when their requirements change.
It's also important to understand what the platform provider offers and what needs to be coordinated with external providers. The better these expectations are aligned from the beginning, the easier it is to plan the implementation.
For me, one of the most important things is that operators should be able to build a business that reflects their own vision. The platform should provide the technology foundation, while giving them the freedom to work with the partners and integrations that make sense for their strategy.
Ultimately, the right platform should support the operator's business model, rather than force the business to work around unnecessary technical limitations.
How important is flexibility when an operator's business requirements change?
It's extremely important, because an operator's business doesn't remain static after launch.
The product offering may evolve, new integrations may become necessary, or the business may start preparing for additional markets. The technology needs to support those changing requirements as far as its architecture and capabilities allow.
This is one of the reasons I believe operators should evaluate not only what a platform can do today, but also how it can accommodate future needs.
At Gamingtec, we genuinely want operators to have the opportunity to build their businesses the way they envision them. Their platform should be the backbone of that business, not a limitation on their choice of partners, integrations or future direction.
Of course, flexibility doesn't mean every change will happen without additional work. It means understanding the possibilities, limitations and dependencies, so the operator can make informed decisions.
A platform should provide a solid foundation for the business while leaving room for it to develop.
What does a successful platform partnership look like after the operator goes live?
Going live is an important milestone, but it isn't the end of the relationship.
A successful partnership is built on clear communication, aligned expectations and an understanding of the operator's ongoing priorities. It also requires both sides to approach challenges constructively and work together when business requirements change.
From the account management perspective, understanding the client's business is essential. The more clearly we understand their objectives and operational needs, the better we can coordinate conversations around the platform and its capabilities.
I also believe that a good technology partner needs to remain flexible itself. We have our own expertise and experience, but we should never assume that we have nothing left to learn. Feedback from operators helps us understand where we are delivering value and where we can improve.
What makes this work rewarding is seeing operators develop their businesses and knowing that the technology and the people behind it have contributed to that progress.
For me, that's the real value of a long-term partnership: building something that continues to work for both sides as the business evolves.
What advice would you give an operator preparing for a migration or a new platform launch?
I'd focus on three things.
First, define your priorities. Be clear about what you need at launch, what can come later and which requirements are essential to your business model.
Second, identify dependencies early. Understand which integrations, third-party providers and internal decisions are necessary for the project to progress.
Third, choose your technology partner carefully. Look beyond the initial proposal and ask how the provider approaches implementation, communication, integration requirements and future changes.
A platform launch involves many moving parts, and good preparation makes those moving parts easier to manage.
The objective shouldn't simply be to get live as quickly as possible. It should be to launch with a setup that supports the business and gives it a foundation to grow from.
Having worked in iGaming technology for many years, I've seen how important the people behind the platform are to making that happen. At Gamingtec, we have a strong team with 13 years of experience behind us, and it's genuinely rewarding to work alongside operators, understand their needs and help them turn their business plans into reality.
A final thought from Maryna
"For me, one of Gamingtec's strongest qualities is our genuine desire to give operators the freedom to build their businesses their own way. A solid turnkey platform should be the backbone of a business, not a limitation on its ambitions, its choice of partners or the integrations it needs to succeed.
We bring 13 years of iGaming technology experience and a strong team, but we also believe in staying flexible ourselves. We listen to feedback, remain transparent about our performance and keep looking for ways to improve.
What makes this work truly rewarding is the opportunity to build long-term partnerships and see the businesses we support grow. We're not just helping operators launch a platform; we're helping them create the foundation for something of their own."
At Gamingtec, we believe that the right technology foundation should help operators launch, adapt and continue building as their businesses evolve.
